When driving down the country roads of Sainte-Françoise-de-Lotbinière, you can’t miss Ferme Drapeau et Bélanger Inc.’s facilities. Ranking among Quebec’s largest dairy operations, the farm is 1,600 heads strong, with 830 lactating cows, and grows 2,100 hectares of field crops. This requires an impressive array of buildings and machinery!

Iréné Drapeau founded the farm in 1938, and his son Marcel took the reins in 1950. Now, his son and grandson Michel and Dominic are at the helm.

To optimize hay and corn silage hauling, they just purchased a Rolland Rollspeed 8844 trailer from Samson Canada Inc., which will be delivered soon. Michel and Dominic are quite familiar with this distributor. Back in 2022 and 2023, they acquired two Rollroc RC 7100 trailers for farm expansion and land improvement work. Both owners had previously purchased three trailers—one Rollspeed 8844, one Rollspeed 7840 and one Turbo Classic 30-44—and a Rollmax 6325 manure spreader from the same company.

So, why has Ferme Drapeau et Bélanger been a loyal Samson Canada customer for 15 years now? The farm’s team not only appreciates its customer service, but also enjoys the reliability, efficiency and ruggedness of Rolland machinery. These attributes are non-negotiable for hauling an impressive 13,000 tons of corn silage, 6,000 tons of hay, and 20,000 to 35,000 tons of earth and rocks annually.

Mike Mathis, owner of Samson Canada, has been in business since 2002. He’s the sole distributor of Danish brands Samson and Elkaer and French brands Rolland and Pichon across Canada. Mike can proudly say he knows his products inside out, as he also owns poultry farm Volailles J.M., where he now grows 1,200 acres of field crops. Thanks to this diverse experience, he can provide outstanding customer service.

Samson Canada is also located on the same site as Volailles J.M. on Parc-Industriel Boulevard in Bécancour, where it holds a large inventory of parts and equipment, such as solid manure spreaders and tipping trailers available for sale or lease. Samson also assembles, repairs and services machinery from this location.
